Job Brief:
Responsible for managing, supervising and documenting all corrective and preventive maintenance activities of fiber & optics across Umniah' s fiber network and inside sites. Also, responsible for monitoring the performance of fiber & optics systems and guide the team through various maintenance related activities, to ensure that network KPIs are met, while adhering to health and safety measures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a holistic maintenance plan for fiber network across Umniah's sites, to ensure the network quality standard are delivered
- Supervise corrective maintenance activities of fiber across Umniah's sites, such as repairing and fault finding on fiber cables to ensure that it is carried out effectively
- Supervise preventative maintenance activities of fiber across Umniah's sites to prevent any failures
- Prepare technical and statistical reports related to fiber performance and overall maintenance activities and communicate updates with the management
- Conduct random and regular site visits & audits to ensure that all maintenance activities are carried out effectively, and provide support in advanced maintenance situations
- Communicate with external stakeholders (contractors and vendors) to schedule for fiber corrective maintenance across Umniah's sites
- Develop the yearly budget plan for fiber maintenance related activities by ensuring a proper OPEX/CAPEX classification
- Cooperate with internal stakeholders to communicate various maintenance requirements such as spare parts purchasing requests, while ensuring a proper budget tracking
- Ensure that all team members are always adhering to health and safety measures to prevent any potential hazards or injuries
- Supervise deploying, commissioning and accepting new fiber expansions
- Resolve, repair and install fiber optics systems and ensure that they work properly
- Third part management (fiber vendors)
Leadership/ management:
- Manage subordinates' learning & development requirements and ensure that it is successfully delivered and provide related feedback to the management
- Assign roles and work load distribution, set team objectives and conduct regular informal one-on-one meetings to deliver personalized feedback and provide support to attain goals
- Conduct formal performance evaluation process for the subordinates in order to optimize workplace productivity
- Participate in the recruitment, selection, evaluation process of new employees
- Provide guidance and delegate responsibilities to subordinates to facilitate performing different tasks to support succession planning process
- Manage subordinates' administrational requirements
- Assure that all subordinates are following Umniah's policies and procedures and highlight any violation for the code of conduct
- Manage economic, efficient and effective budget plan and control in alignment with the department and Umniah's strategy
- Ensure that employees are engaged and motivated through creating a respectful and trusting relationship with them and communicating Umniah values
- Demonstrate flexibility in management by accommodating individual employee needs such as adjustable schedules or remote work options
Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Telecommunication Engineering or any other related field
Level of Experience:
Advanced Experience in a related field.

Essential:
- Optical Fiber training
Desirable:
- Fiber Optics Certification
- GIS
- FTTH Knowledge
- CFOS (Certified fiber optic Specialist) FOA
Tools & Systems:
Essential:
- Excellent command of operation and usage of OTDR
- Good Command of GIS tool
- Excellent command of operation and usage of Optical Power Meter
- Excellent command of operation and usage of Splicing Machine
Desirable:
- Good command of transmission management systems (NMS)
Technical Skills & Knowledge:
Essential:
- A working knowledge of Fiber Splicing and fiber power calculations
- A working knowledge of TX systems and solutions
